My commitment has deep, personal roots.
As the oldest of 5 adopted children in a family of myriad races, ethnicities, and cultural influences, I noticed at an early age that our atypical troupe piqued people's curiosity...and sometimes intrusive questions or outright hostility and prejudice.
As a result, I've spent decades investigating the complex nature of identity, privilege, bias, power, and "-isms"...and it ignited my interest in advocacy, education, reform, and service in the DEI space.
It's my privilege to contribute personally
and professionally to this work, including:
I've guest lectured at UCLA on race, gender & identity, built corporate Diversity and Inclusion programs, curated a multicultural art show, originated a camp for adopted teenagers, boycotted for migrant workers' rights, delivered keynotes to adopting parents, designed
culturally relevant HR policies and programs
for 20k+ global employees, mentored under-represented minority talent, built ties with community organizations, spoken on career panels, delivered Bias and Privilege training,
UCLA scholarship application reader...and I
continuously educate and challenge myself.
I'm proud to have supported, worked for, and/or been educated by these organizations:
National & California Diversity Councils, Anita B.org & Grace Hopper, Ellevate Network, Outsports Pride, National Black MBA Association, EICOP (HBCUs in LA), Working Wardrobes, GLAAD, Coalition for Asian Pacifics in Entertainment, Human Rights Campaign Foundation, Homefield Alliance, Imagen, National Association for Multi-Ethnicity in Communications, Veterans in Business, It Gets Better Project, and Association for Latino Professionals for America.
